About Mille Lacs Lake
Lake Mille Lacs is Minnesota’s second largest lake and covers 132,500 acres. It’s approximately 18 miles wide by 20 miles long and maximum depths barely exceed 40 feet, while much of the main lake falls into the 20-38 foot depth range. The north half of Mille Lacs contains most of the lake’s mud flats and the southern portion of the lake, where we are, offers more gravel and rock bars. It offers a variety of fish including walleye, northern pike, muskie, large and smallmouth bass and jumbo perch as well as eelpout and tullibee. It has a National Wildlife Refuge made up of two rock islands known as Hennepin Island and Spirit Island. We are in Isle Bay located on the very SE corner of the lake.
